Maiken is 22 years old and lives in Odense, where she is currently studying to become a pedagogue (social educator). Her great passion is helping people who have had a difficult start in life and creating a sense of security, hope, and the belief that brighter days always lie ahead, even when life feels challenging. She wishes to be a woman whom others can look up to and mirror themselves in through her actions and the way she connects with people. At the age of 13, Maiken was diagnosed with epilepsy, and for many years, she carried a feeling of being different. It has been a personal journey to find inner peace and to accept herself exactly as she is. Today, she has chosen to turn that experience into a strength, using it to meet others with greater understanding and empathy. Maiken loves meeting new people and is constantly seeking new perspectives. She has a deep interest in other cultures and animals, and finds great joy in experiencing the world. One of her greatest experiences was a folk high school (højskole) stay in Southeast Asia involving volunteer work and intercultural encounters. Additionally, she has played handball for many years, which has resulted in several medals and instilled in her strong values such as community, discipline, and unity.
